Description
Carved wooden panel with 'coat of arms' of Duleep Singh family; Two crowned lions support a shield with another lion and smaller shield with Christian cross. Above this scene is a helmet, foliage topped by another smaller crowned lion, sideways on, supporting another shield with cross. There is a carved motto of 'Prodesse quam conspicii'(to do good rather than be conspicuous) The design was drawn up by Prince Albert (1819 - 1861) but was never registered at the College of Arms. The wood is dark.
