Description

This paper, grid map was found near Capel Boom in the Merville Area when the 1st Battalion Norfolk Regiment took up position there in April 1918 during the Battle of Lys. It was created by the Royal Engineers of the Field Survery Co. 6129. The map shows roads, towns, and farms of the surrounding areas concerning Merville, France; Estaires, France; Robecq, France; and Richbourg, France. The scale, located near the bottom right hand side, indicates that the map is 1/40,000 of the actual location.
