French-Spanish dictionary (Espagnol - Francais) published in Lyon 1803, with a signed bookplate of Captain William Maynard Gomm in the front of the book. In 1812 Gomm left the 9th Foot for the Coldstream Guards and the bookplate on the inside bears the motto of that unit. Gomm served with the 9th Foot in the Peninsular War, 1794-1812, and received the Peninsular Gold Medal.
