Description

Halberd. The weapon combines three functions; a hook to pullmen from the saddle, a point to pierce between the joints in armour and an axe for hacking at the enemy. Used by the British Army from the 15th Century almost to the end of the 18th Century, but towards the end, only carried by sergeants. This blade is stamped with the armourers mark, an M above a z on a box.
