Order of Medjidjie

Foreign award, Order of Medjedie received by Duff, J. (Col) of the Norfolk Regiment for service in the Crimean War. The centre of the medal is gold and portrays the Sultan's initials, surrounded by a wide enameled band inscribed with the Turkish inscrpition Zeal, Devotion and Loyalty -1268 (1852) The medal is suspended from a red enamelled crescent star.
