Bell-topped Shako badge, a gilt eight pointed star surmounted by a crown, superimposed by an eightpoint bead or diamond cut star in silver, bearing a gilt wreath of laurels entwined with eight battle honours with green enamel. In the centre, Britannia, bareheraded, with trident, Union shield and lion facing front, with a black enamel backing. The trident is passing under the left shoulder and the right hand is not visible. Roman numeral IX at the base.
