Staff officers, known as General Staff or Army Staff, are officers removed from their individual regiments and made responsible for the administrative, operational and logistical needs of the Army. They are the means of communication between a commanding officer and the military units he is responsible for, and to filter information needed by the commander. This helmet is designed for ceremonial occasions such as the Delhi Durbar in 1901.
