Boer Fur Cap

Transvaal State Artillery hat. A fur cap similar to a Hussar’s, with a red peak called a kolpak that hangs down the side and a red cockade at the front. The badge is crossed cannons. The hat was taken by the Regiment at the end of the first part of the 2nd Boer War, while the Boer States still had uniformed units.
