Description

Hospital flag used by the 2nd Battalion of the Norfolk Regiment at Ladysmith, South Africa, during the Second Boer War (1899-1902). Only half of the flag now survives. It is made from light brown (once white) linen or cotton, with red borders and a large red cross in the centre, of which one arm and part of another are now missing.
