Recommendaton for Distinguished Conduct Medal to be awarded to Company Sergeant Major Walter Hipkin, of the 1st Battalion, Norfolk Regiment, proposed by Lieutenant Colonel G. DeGrey. The 1st Battalion was part of the 15th Infantry Brigade, 5th Division. Operations SW of Cambrai, France, late September, 1918.
