14th Division Sketch No. 15

Sketch map 'No.15' by the 14th Division of the 2nd Norfolk Regiment 8 February 1917. The map warns the user that it is 'Secret- Not to be taken into the Front Line.' The reverse describes the map as the battleground of S. of Kut el Amara, the Bank of the River Tigris of January 1917. Trenches, streets, and the are around theTigris River are depicted. A Liquorice Factory is underlined in bright pink on the map because it was often mentioned by Kut victims. A scale along the bottom is shown in yards but also explains 6 inches to 1 mile.
