This set of conjoined composite gold rings comprises an enigmatic and fascinating object dated to the Middle Bronze Age. It does not appear to have had an obvious function but was certainly deliberately fashioned into this form. The significance is a puzzle but it provides a potential insight into the behaviour and beliefs within society, prior to the adoption of writing.
