Description

Coin hoard, Roman late 4th century hoard of 27 gold solidi and 4 silver siliquae of the emperors Valens, Valentinian II, Magnus Maximus, Arcadius and Honorius, found at Deopham. Initial hoard comprised 26 solidi but a stray was subsequently found in metal-detection and accessioned as 2013.64

A hoard of late Roman gold solidi was discovered in an arable field in the parish of Deopham, near Wymondham, 12 miles south-west of Norwich in 1993. In all it contained 27 gold solidi and 3 silver siliquae, all dated before AD 402.
