Description

Navy blue woollen gansey or fisherman's jersey with high ribbed neck, fancy ribbed striped panels over chest and back with stocking stitch below, purchased at St. Andrew's Dock, Hull, Yorkshire in March 1935; machine-made, possibly a 'Victory' brand but with no label; the common zig-zag or marriage lines worn by fishermen at Cromer and elsewhere
