Child's dress in white cotton lawn with front panels of very fine inserts of Ayrshire embroidery on muslin, en tablier on skirt, widens out from waist in this case to a set of 6 tucks, v shaped insert on bodice front with a bordering frill extending from waist over shoulders to back opening, Ayrshire work also on short sleeves, lace edging on hem, neck and sleeves, hand stitched, wide neck with drawstring, to fit a child aged about 3, waistband probably added later, 19th century
