Description

Doll, bust of deep pink wax, short blonde hair slashed in coming from crown of head, blue glass eyes inset beneath query inset lashes, slightly tinted cheeks, head turned to left, fold of skin at back of neck, wax lower limbs show detail at nails, brass eyelets on legs, upper limbs cloth, stuffed with horsehair or cow hair, body of white cloth; clothes include knitted short chemise, white cotton open shirt, long flannel binder, knitted socks, white cotton chemise, long cotton petticoats and dress, wearing square of cotton as nappy, all clothes beautifully made trimmed with lace, tucks and embroidery, clothes have been washed, body stamped C. Hamleys 84 Regent St W Dolls Repaired, doll maker possibly an early Pierotti about 1865
