Description

Doll, bust of bisque heavily coloured, brown hair wig off centre seam parting, mounted on canvas, light brown painted eye brows, blue glass moving eyes, lids painted over, eye lashes grey painted, thick and emphasized, cheeks tinted, ears unpierced and not finely shaped, mouth open, gap through, 4 teeth suggested, bright cupid bow; upper arms of white suede, bisque lower arms, detailed moulding, legs of white kid; body of white kid, scalloped edge at bust, simple shape with low waist seam, marks include a 4½ beneath the scalloped edge of body; clothes include white cotton lace trimmed chemise, marked with monogram query LR, tied at the front, long crepe back skirt, long white cotton petticoat, long white muslin dress, many tucks, much lace trimming, about 1900
