Description

Doll, white porcelain, black glazed hair with long ringlets and form of bun at back of neck, brightly tinted cheeks, bright blue eyes, red moon shaped curve over eyes, red marks at corner of eyes and nostrils, very sloping shoulders, limbs of pink stuffed drill, legs jointed at knee, arms un-jointed and clumsy, stitched fingers, pink stuffed drill body, clothes include white cotton chemise, white stays with flannel waist petticoat fastened with linen buttons, trimmed with tucks and feather stitching, coarse cotton waist slip 3 tucks, stroked gathers fastened with cotton tie, waist cotton petticoat, red, pink and white cotton dress with trimmed tucks, corded v waist line, pleated bodice and sleeves, both trimmed with white chain stitching, knitted pink slippers, cloth soles and black bows, 1850s early; doll about 1835
