Description

Fossil, Mammuthus meridionalis (Nesti) (southern elephant) fragment of upper right molar M3. Mineralised and most of the cover cemment has been preserved. The enamel is Black in colour, the dentine is dark to orange brown, and the cement is light orange-brown to dark red-brown (iron oxide). The sediment is a fine yellow to dark brown sand with a few mica crystals, adhering to the roots.; Quaternary, Pleistocene, Cromer Forest Bed Series, from Mundesley, Norfolk
