Description

Fossil, Mammuthus trogontherii (steppe mammoth) fragment of upper left/right(?) molar M1. Mineralised with no cover cement. The enamel is black to grey in colour externally, and blueish white to white internally. The dentine is black to brownish yellow and the cement is light to dark grey in colour. The sediment is a fine to medium grained pale orange/brown (oxide) sand adhering to the crown.; Quaternary, Pleistocene, Cromer Forest Bed Series, from Mundesley, Norfolk
