Description

Fossil, Mammuthus meridionalis (Nesti) (southern elephant) fragment of complete remains of upper left molar M1. Mineralised with cover cement only partailly erroded. Enamel is black to blueish white in colour, and the dentine is dark brown to beige, and the cement is reddish grey to dark brown in colour. The sediment is a fine white sand that is adhering to the base of the crown and between the lamellae.; Quaternary, Pleistocene, Cromer Forest Bed Series, from Mundesley, Norfolk
