Petticoat with a shaped waist yoke in white cotton twill and a skirt in white cotton, corded in narrow rib and thick rib which was a special fabric for petticoats, skirt accordian pleated onto waistband, horizontal tuck all round below waistband, front panel to tuck of twilled cotton, back of narrow ribbed cotton for extra stiffness, below tuck thick ribbed cotton all round, centre back opening closing with buttons, hand stitched about 1860 to 1870
