Description
Fossil, Mammuthus trogontherii (Pohlig) (steppe mammoth) fragment of lower right molar M3, partially mineralised. Enamel is blue - white in colour and the dentine is yellow - orange beige. From the boulder clay and is 'striated and polished by ice' during glaciation. A hole has been drilled into it, probably for fluorine estimation.; Quaternary, Pleistocene, Cromer Forest Bed Series, from Trimingham, Norfolk
