Description

Wooden tricycle made c.1870 by village carpenter in Foxley. Used by Robert (Friday) Brown. It was still in use in 1915 by Robert Brown aged 75, see GRSRM.1993.1 photograph of him riding the tricycle. It has a wooden frame, wheels and spokes, iron tyres, wooden saddle. Probably made by the local wheelwright and blacksmith in 1870.

This adult tricycle made in 1870 by the village carpenter in Foxley, Norfolk has a wooden frame, wheels and seat along with iron tyres. The tricycle was still in use in 1915 - often the 75 year old Robert Brown was seen still riding it around the area.
