Book, 'Rood-Screen at Barton Turf' by Cornelius Jansson Walter Winter (1817-1891), printed book on board, 1869; 38 cm x 28.6 cm; title page in print 'ILLUSTRATIONS / OF THE / Rood-Screen at barton Turf / PUBLISHED UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE / Norfolk and Norwich Archaeological Society. / DRAWN AND LITHOGRAPHED BY C. J. W. WINTER, / WITH DESCRIPTIVE NOTES BY / THE REV. JOHN GUNN, M.A., F.G.S., / VICAR OF BARTON TURF WITH IRSTEAD. / Norwich'; board covered book with leather corners and spine. 15 pp text by Rev. John Gunn and 36pp of plates by C.J.W. Winter; an image of the whole screen is shown, with images of the 17 figures featured on it. Each image has four versions, executed in various media. 9 plates are coloured with possible hand colouring, or are original drawings/watercolours. Letters from John Gunn and Winter have been stuck in, as well as a clipping of a report/minutes from an Archaeological Society meeting.
