Description

Fossil, Palaeoloxodon antiquus (Falconer and Cautley) (straight-tusked elephant) fragment of lower right molar M3. Not mineralised, has a weathered appearance, is cracked and crumbley. The enamel is whitish to blueish in colour, the dentine and cement are off white. The sediment is a fine to medium red/brown (iron oxide) sand, and is adhering to the crown and occlusal surface; Quaternary, Pleistocene, post-glacial alluvium, from Mundesley, Norfolk
