Saxon gold finger ring; biconical band, now slightly squashed on one edge; filigree scroll decoration and beaded mid rib and edges, found at West Dereham in 1965 on a small holding at West Dereham when hoeing onions

This finely worked Anglo-Saxon gold ring was found near West Dereham in Norfolk in the 1960’s by somebody hoeing onions. The biconical band is decorated with filigree scroll decoration and a beaded mid rib and edges and would have been an expensive show of status for its owner.
