Unframed certificate for the Ancient Order of Foresters Friendly Society. Belonged to Horace Walpole Allen (d.1962) of the Shropham/Hockham area. Ppolychrome gold print by J.M. Kronheim and Co., London and Manchester; printed 'To Certify that Bro. Horace Walpole Allen was duly admitted a Member of the Order in Court No.2500 on 10th day of October in the year 1903'. Includes names: Bro. Leonard Lister - Chief Ranger, Bro. John Ernest Lister - Sub Chief Ranger, Bro. George Hawes - Secretary. Printed on white card with elaborate floral border with thistles, shamrocks and roses plus pictures of the four seasons in the corners and portraits of Faith, Hope, Love and Happiness at the top, bottom and sides. Also, arcadian central scene depicting man and woman seated in woodland glade, resembling Robin Hood and Maid Marion, with hunting dog and deer. Polychrome and gold print.
