John and Walter Morgan bought Conisford Brewery from Charles and Henry Thompson. By 1879 the company had been renamed Morgan and Co. The company took over many other breweries and by 1904 they owned 600 pubs with 80% outside of Norwich with pubs all over Norfolk. During the Second World War the brewery was damaged by bombs. Morgan's had taken over the Lady Bridge Brewery in King's Lynn os continued to brew there. In 1961 the company went into liquidation and were taken over by Bullards and Steward and Patteson.
