Description

Tape recording, A Folk Song for Anglia telling the true story of the boy Yaxley who climbed the Church Tower to reach a bird's nest accompanied by a friend, who hung him upside to reach the nest, but the friend wanted him to share the eggs and threatened to drop him if he didn't, but Yaxley refused saying he had taken the risk so the friend let him go and he fell, and then felt remorse as he would have killed Yaxley, but Yaxley only had a few scratches and lived to go to sea and returned to Cromer, lived close to the church, and this spot on the church tower was forever known as Yaxley's hole - length 3 mins, sung by Cyril Crawford Holden
